ABOUT TAKETEI
Taketei Restaurant opened in June of 2000. It has always been our intention to offer authentic Japanese cuisine in a warm and cozy atmosphere just a few steps away from the many activities along Khaosan Road. The prices are astonishingly reasonable; the quality of the food is amazingly high. Our master chef, Phi Kun, personally selects the fish, meat, and vegetables at the market every single day. We use 100%Japonica rice, which enhances the taste of our Japanese meals served by our attendant staff.
Our offerings feature twelve assorted set menus, along with many kinds of rice and noodle dishes. Our a la carte menu includes a wide variety of sushi, sushi rolls and vegetarian rolls. Our original recipe for sushi roll which use avocado and cream cheese is considered a special delicacy by our regular guests.
Taketei is an air-conditioned restaurant with a capacity for 80 diners. Guest have the option of sitting on a traditional tatami mat floor or at a table. A sushi bar is available for sushi lovers who enjoy watching sushi being made. Japanese rice wine Sake and best Japanese beer Asahi super dry are also available. INTRODUCING THE MASTER CHEF
Mr.Nukul is the owner and master chef of Taketei Restaurant. Phi Kun, as he is commonly called, began his apprenticeship under the direction of a Japanese master chef. At the age of nineteen, Phi Kun was cooking at one of the best Japanese restaurant in Bangkok. Because of Phi Kun's exceptional culinary skills, he was selected to pursue his talents to the utmost, and completed his apprenticeship in Japan. Phi Kun recalls that time of his life: "Everyone was so helpful and friendly. I loved learning about the essence of creating authentic Japanese cuisene."
Upon returning to Thailand, Phi Kun was assigned to be master chef at one of the best Japanese restaurants at a five star hotel in Bangkok. He worked there for twenty years before he was able to achieve his own personal dream by opening Taketei Restaurant.
